Humphries
and Company General Contractors was founded in 1981 as
an interior general contractor. Today, interior construction remains
the backbone of our business. We have developed a reputation for
quality, consistency, and customer sensitivity, which has led to
our high level of repeat business. Our clients have historically
been Atlanta's major building developers and public and private
companies. We number among them Cousins Properties, Carter & Associates,
The Emory Clinic, Kilpatrick Stockton, LLP, Troutman Sanders, King
& Spalding, Invesco, The Robinson- Humphrey Company, The Coca-Cola
Company, Turner Broadcast/CNN and BellSouth. Our experience includes
general office space of all descriptions, call centers, switch and
data center, clubs, medical, law firms, and securities firms. Our
year 2000 volume was approximately $80 Million.
We
currently have 20 people in our office, including Company President,
Vice President, Business Developer, a Pre-Construction Manager,
six (6) Project Managers, four (4) Administrative Assistants, the
accounting department, and other support staff. Our field, however,
is the strength of the company, with 17 superintendents and a team
of approximately 75+ carpenters who perform drywall, ceilings, doors,
frames, and hardware, and all carpentry and wood trim installation.
Having such a large field crew allows us to properly man each job,
meet tight schedules, and maintain our quality standards. Our team
is assisted by our General Superintendent, and supported by our
Purchasing Manager and other field support personnel.
Humphries
is dedicated to forming strong teams with our subcontractors, owners,
tenants, and design professionals to ensure successful completion
of every project. Part of our success, in addition to the strength
of our field and office staff, is due to the relationships we have
developed over the years with quality subcontractors. We also place
a premium on communication, primarily through weekly job meetings
and follow up meeting notes, action item lists, and schedules. Our
goal is to professionally manage every job, to have a "no surprises"
environment, and to add value through competency and leadership.
We feel we have accomplished this in the past, and we are committed
to meeting this goal on every job in the future.
