As a General Contractor our mission is to manage the construction process. In the 25+ years we have been in business we have developed the tools necessary to accomplish that mission.
Our typical preconstruction process consists of:
- Preparation of cost estimates and GMP's
- Preliminary schedules
- Value engineering
- Long lead item identification
- Constructability analysis
- Subcontractor pre-qualification, selection and bidding.
During construction our Project Managers and Superintendents plan the work and provide leadership by motivating the team personnel and organizing the overall process. The primary tool is the weekly project meeting. These are held with all parties: the owner, the architect/design firm, the subcontractors and the owner's vendors. Each week we review and update the various specific tools used to track and manage the construction process:
- Safety inspection report
- Action item list
- Project schedule
- RFI log
- Submittal log
- Material tracking log
- Sketch clarification log
- Drawing log
The documentation for each meeting is then electronically distributed to all members of the team for follow up. Our overall focus is to keep everyone on the team headed in the same direction and working toward a common goal.
Our commitment to quality is well known in our market. Our superintendents walk the job several times a day inspecting the work in progress. Our project managers and superintendents are in constant communication with the design team and subcontractors to identify and resolve issues in the early stages before they become a problem. We have also found that this constant communication is the way to provide the “no surprises” environment that we strive to deliver for our clients. We have a reputation for successfully completing the “hard” projects, and we know we have to earn that reputation on every job.
